Exam Details

Purpose:

The NSAI exam for thermal modellers serves a crucial purpose in Ireland's Building Regulations compliance framwork, TGD Part L.

It is designed to assess and certify the competence of professionals in the thermal modelling of building junctions and details. Its primary purpose is to ensure that individuals can accurately assess the effects of thermal bridging in buildings as required by clause 1.3.3.2 of TDG Part L of the Irish Building Regulations.

Scheme Objectives:

NSAI thermal modellers scheme allows applicants to register as approved Thermal Modellers for assessing thermal bridging details and junctions to illustrate compliance with TGD Part L.
