There are four different ways you can work with a us to combine Standards with Research and Innovation:

#1 Screen existing Standards

By screening existing Standards, you will be able to access state-of-the-art knowledge and resources on the topic you are working on. This includes national, European and international Standards across various emerging technologies and industries. You can therefore build your research and innovation on top of established standards that are already accepted in the marketplace - using existing Standards as an innovation platform to successfully launch your new product or service across global markets.

#2 Join an existing standardization community

Joining a standardization community allows you to network with other national and global experts.  Exchange ideas, gain market and technical insights and new perspectives on ongoing work, and access relevant information that will inform and support your innovation activities. You can register your interest here.

#3 Revise an existing  Standard or develop a new one

If you have identified a need to revise an existing Standard or to develop a new one, you can do so by engaging with NSAI and our international network of standards organizations at European and International levels, including CEN, CENELEC, ETSI, ISO, IEC and ITU.

#4 Fast track to new standardisation

A CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) is a consensus-based specification, drawn up in an open 'Workshop' environment at a European level.  A CWA is a specific document designed for RD&I projects and can form the basis for new Standards. Drafting time is about 6-12 months, after which your CWA could be further developed into a full European standard or integrated into an existing one.
