Gas Technical Standards Committee (GTSC)
The GTSC's scope of work covers all aspects of the supply and usage of natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), renewable gas (biomethane, bio LPG) and hydrogen. The membership of the committee is composed of key stakeholders/collective bodies that provide an authoritative and representative voice or policy role in the gas sector. GTSC members contribute their knowledge and expertise on a voluntary basis and advises the NSAI on what Irish standards and Codes of Practice are necessary for products and processes used in the gas industry, with particular regard to safety. The GTSC also supports the development of European (CEN) and International (ISO) gas related standards.
The GTSC is made up of a Central Committee governing the 7 sub-committees that are listed below.

The GTSC 2018 Activity Report was launched on the 21st November 2019 by Minister of State at the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment Mr Sean Canney TD.
The GTSC has extended the scope of its sub-committees to include renewable gas, hydrogen and LNG. This is in the light of increased activity relating to these areas both within the gas industry and the European and International standardisation work programme. In order to ensure that Ireland is prepared for these new developments, NSAI's Gas Technical Standards Committee is calling for experts in the areas of renewable gas, hydrogen and LNG to join its sub-committees.
