What is a Tachograph
A tachograph is a device fitted to certain categories of vehicles that automatically records the vehicles speed and distance together with the time drivers spend driving and resting. Tachographs can be either analogue or digital with the latter being required on a mandatory basis for applicable vehicles first registered on or after 1st May 2006.
Tachographs ensure that drivers comply with the relevant National (1) and European (2) regulations.
