About the standard

The aim of this Irish Standard is to promote wider understanding of the selection, commissioning, installation, inspection and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers (PFEs).

It also aims to encourage uniformity of application, based on providing enhanced safety to persons in the event of an outbreak of fire.
