NSAI is calling all experts in safety in A/V and ICT Technologies for Technical Committee

The NSAI is currently welcoming applications from technical experts to join and become active members of its NSAI/ETC/TC 11 technical committee, which develops standardisation in the field of safety for audio/video, information technology and communication technology. The committee mirrors it’s international (IEC/TC 108) and European (CENELEC TC/108X) counterparts and works to develop a standard that reflects best practice in these areas in Ireland while maintaining consistency with international and European standards.

Membership of an NSAI committee is open to person(s)/organisation(s) representing national stakeholder interests such as industry, government, education and research, trade associations, consumers, societal, labour and others.

The publication and global adoption of IEC 62368-1(Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment - Part 1: Safety requirements) has led to increased interest in the activities of the IEC/TC 108 committee at an international level. Active members of the technical committee can influence the future direction safety standards such as IEC 62368-1 and other safety standards and can use their expertise to review, comment on, and influence new drafts, proposed amendments, interpretation sheets and new work items presented by the IEC/TC 108 committee.

Members will also provide input to NSAI as the National Committee representing Ireland in IEC and CENELEC on the exercising of voting rights during the lifecycle of standards, from inception to publication to withdrawal.

Interested in this opportunity to shape deliberations in this area?

Apply for membership via the NSAI Website, or submit your query to Jonathan Quigley at jonathan.quigley@nsai.ie citing your relevant experience within the safety of A/V and ICT industries.
