NSAI (National Standards Authority of Ireland), the state agency responsible for standardisation, conformity assessment and measurement, has announced the appointment of Geraldine Larkin as its new Chief Executive Officer.
 
Ms Larkin, a highly experienced senior executive, takes up the post this week, having previously held the position of CEO for the Irish Greyhound Board and the Private Security Authority. She also worked for the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform over ten years.
 
Welcoming the appointment, Julie O’Neill, NSAI Chairman said: “Geraldine brings her substantial experience and track record to NSAI at an exciting time for the organisation. We are currently implementing our 2020 Strategic Plan, which will result in a more focused service offering to reflect the needs of Irish businesses and society. I, and the other members of the Board, look forward to working with her over the coming years.”
 
Speaking today, Chief Executive Officer of NSAI, Geraldine Larkin said: “I am delighted to be taking up this important and challenging position with NSAI. Together with the Board and staff, I look forward to building on the focus and scale of the NSAI service offering planned for the next five years.”
 
Ms Larkin holds an MBA degree in Technology Management from Open University. She graduated from the Institute of Public Administration in Dublin in 1992 with a BA in Public Administration.
