Following a public consultation process, the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) has launched a revised Irish Standard on Gas Distribution Mains, called I.S. 329:2024 – Gas distribution mains.

This standard supersedes I.S. 329:2015+A1:2016, and provides updated guidance in the design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and alteration and decommissioning of gas distribution mains, at pressures up to and including 16 bar.

I.S. 329, whose first edition was published in 1987, has been used by organisations such as Gas Networks Ireland to inform how their gas distribution mains are designed and constructed.

A preview of this Irish Standard is available from NSAI’s webstore at www.Standards.ie

I.S. 329:2024 has been prepared by the Gas Technical Standards Committee of the NSAI (NSAI/TC 1/SC 2 "TC 1 Gas distribution"). The NSAI wishes to acknowledge committee members for their dedication and input into the revision of the Standard.
