Introduction of New Taximeter Sealing Arrangements
Legal Metrology have conducted a review of the sealing arrangements of taximeters. The current sealing by means of a tamper proof sticker will be replaced with a wire and plastic locking mechanism arrangement for all taximeters, with the exception of the Cygnus MR500 View and Torola SPT5 taximeters, with these two taximeters continuing to be sealed with the tamper proof stickers.
From the 1st April 2020, taximeters should be presented for verification with the necessary screw(s) and associated fittings to allow for sealing by way of the new wire and locking mechanism arrangement, see figure 1 below. Contact your installer for further details.
