The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) is accepting applications for the upcoming Thermal Modeller examination. This certification is designed for Building Physics professionals to ensure compliance with Technical Guidance Document (TGD) Part L requirements.

Certification Process:

Applicants must demostrate competence through a written submission and successfully complete thermal bridging exxam calculation set by NSAI.

Exam Components:

The exam typically consists of three questions, including 2D and 3D thermal bridge calculations to be completed within a set timeframe.

Web-based Register:

Successful applicants are listed on a web-based register of Approval Thermal Modellers maintained by NSAI.

Compliance scope:

Approved thermal modellers are deemed competent to assess complex building junction in accordance with Appendix D of Technical Guidance Document (TGD) Part L.

Application Requirements:

Candidates must submit a detailed application including CV, project summaries, and a portfolio of construction details together with requirements outlined in clauses 1-8 of NSAI Approved Thermal Modellers Scheme document.
