ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute, has launched the 2026 Research & Innovation Awards scheme.
This competition recognises the outstanding contributions from the research community to ETSI’s standardisation work.
Any ETSI member can make a nomination and there are three categories:
- Collaborative Award Project – Honouring publicly funded projects that turned research into real impact by contributing to ETSI’s standardisation or software deliverables.
- Individual Researcher Award– Recognising outstanding innovators who successfully integrated their research into ETSI’s standardisation or software deliverables.
- Young Researcher Award – Spotlighting rising stars under the age of 30 whose academic work (theses, dissertations, or research projects) has influenced ETSI’s standardisation or software deliverables directly or indirectly.
The deadline for nominations is February 16th 2026.
The awards will be presented during the European Conference on Networks and Communications & 6G Summit, held in Spain in June 2026.
