NSAI Certification UK Ltd has achieved accreditation from UKAS (UK Accreditation Service) for their work under the UK CPR (Construction Products Regulation).

A subsidiary of the National Standards Authority of Ireland, the company was set up to facilitate trade between Irish businesses and Great Britain, post-Brexit.  With the UK being Ireland’s second biggest export market after the US, NSAI’s mission is to help Irish companies achieve UKCA marking allowing them to place or continue to place products on the marketplace in England, Scotland and Wales thus reducing barriers to trade.

Products covered under the current scope of accreditation include:

  • Cements
  • Masonry products
  • Aggregates
  • Gypsum products
  • Structural timber products
  • Wood-based panels
  • Precast concrete products
  • Structural steel

Speaking on the UKAS accreditation Robin Byrne, Head of UK Office, said: “NSAI Certification UK is delighted to be in a position to help Irish companies in obtaining UKCA marking for their construction products and enable them to continue to trade in the UK market. I would like to thank the team involved in achieving this terrific result, they should be extremely proud of their efforts.”

Robin added: “This is just the first step for our business in the UK. We are also working with UKAS on gaining accreditation for UKCA marking of medical devices and look forward to being able to offer this service in the near future”.
