NSAI has launched a public consultation for the draft of the revised standard prEN 16931-1 “Electronic invoicing — Part 1: Semantic data model of the core elements of an electronic invoice”.
Public consultation runs from 1 August to 14 October 2025 (inclusive).
The update to this standard strengthens B2B use and clarifies the data needed for automation across purchasing, VAT, payment and audit processes.
What’s new for businesses
- From 1 July 2030: Structured eInvoicing becomes mandatory for intra-EU B2B transactions
- Reference Standard: EN 16931-1 will underpin the EU’s Digital Reporting Requirements (DRR) for modernised VAT reporting.
