NSAI host meeting in Dublin of TC 40XB - Resistors

NSAI, as the Irish National Committee for CENELEC, the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization, hosted a meeting in Dublin on September 26-28, 2012, of its Technical Committee 40XB – Resistors.  The scope of this TC is to prepare and maintain European Standards in the field of fixed and variable resistors and networks for use in electronic equipment. These standards are for use within a suitable system for quality assessment of electronic components, and aim to support the trading activities of European component users and manufacturers.

Close liaison is maintained with the International Electrotechnical Commission’s Technical Committee 40 – Capacitors and resistors for electronic equipment, which includes parallel voting on similar documents where possible, thus enabling IEC documents to be adopted in Europe. Co-operation is also maintained with other relevant IEC Technical Committees, such as TC 91 – Electronics assembly technology, and TC 104 – Environmental conditions, classification and methods of test, where such co-operation will promote the convergence of the two systems.
