NSAI would like to advise of the publication of the following standards:

- I.S. 6:2025 Pre-cast Concrete Pipes and Fittings
I.S. 329:2024+A1:2025 – Gas Distribution Mains
This Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and alteration of mains, for the distribution of 1st, 2nd and 3rd family gases, natural gas and substitute natural gas, (e.g. Bio-methane gas) as classified in I.S. EN 437 at pressures up to and including 16 bar, and decommissioning. The distribution mains are the network of pipes which transports gas from the natural gas transmission system, LPG storage system or a gas manufacturing plant to the gas service pipes.
This edition of I.S. 329 contains a new annex which specifies the minimum requirements for the design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and alteration, and decommissioning of new mains for the distribution of 100 % hydrogen at pressures up to and including 5 bar.

I.S. 813: 2025 – Domestic Gas Installations (Edition 4)
This Standard provides for the installation of natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), in dwellings, from the point of delivery to the gas appliance. It also provides for installation of domestic appliances in non-domestic buildings.
Some of the requirements include:
- installation of appliances and associated pipework in single occupancy dwellings and in multi-unit dwellings;
- installation of domestic-type appliances (i.e. < 70 kW) in non-domestic buildings;
- LPG bulk tank and cylinder installations
- installation and commissioning of appliances;
- safe operation and maintenance of installations in use;
- safe operation and maintenance of existing gas installations in dwellings (including chalets, cabins, modular buildings, etc.) caravans and mobile holiday homes.
- safe operation and maintenance of existing gas installations in caravans, motor caravans and other road vehicles conforming to I.S. EN 1949 ;

I.S. 3216:2025 Code of Practice - Bulk Storage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)
This standard specifies the requirements for the equipment and activities associated with the safe storage and transfer of LPG under pressure at ambient temperatures in fixed and in skid mounted pressure vessels with a water capacity larger greater than 150 litres. It applies to refrigerated LPG pressure vessels with a volume greater than 13 m3. It applies to all such sites whether or not the material is stored for use on-site or for trans-shipment and subsequent use off-site. This standard does not apply to the storage of cylinders or cartridges containing LPG or to the transport of LPG.

I.S. 6:2025 Pre-cast Concrete Pipes and Fittings
I.S. 6:2025 sets out complementary requirements to I.S. EN 1916:2002 (as corrected) for reinforced and unreinforced pre-cast concrete pipes and fittings used in buried gravity pipelines for the conveyance of sewage, rainwater and surface water.
I.S. 6:2025 applies to:
- Buried gravity pipelines for sewage
- Buried gravity pipelines for rainwater
- Buried gravity pipelines for surface water
This standard does not apply to:
- Egg-shaped piping
