To access the Committee Draft (CD) users need to log in and register to generate an account. The document can be found under "Committee" by looking for ISO/TC 176/SC 2. The draft standard can be then be downloaded for review and comments submitted against any clause of subclause.
The deadline for submitting any comments on this draft is August 26th, 2013.
This is an opportunity for the many users of ISO 9001 in Ireland to comment of the proposed revision of ISO 9001.
All national inputs will be reviewed and finalised by the NSAI QMSC – the national mirror group currently monitoring the work of ISO TC 176. Feedback on the CD draft from all countries will be used to prepare the next revision of the draft standard, ISO DIS 9001 which should be available for public comment around March 2014.
It is important to have your say on the revision of the most widely used ISO standard.
The CD draft uses the structure of the agreed High Level Text (HLT) from Annex SL of the ISO Directives. This HTL text is to be adopted by any management system standard that is currently being revised. This means that many of the ISO management system standards will now have common core text with additional requirements relating to the specific management system included in the revised standard. The aim of using this approach is to facilitate an integrated approach for users of the many management system standards. Currently ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 are going through a revision process using the HLT approach.
