The International Standards Organization has recently approved the development of a new standard for the Design of Sex Toys. The new standard, ISO 3533 – Sex toys – design and safety requirements for products in direct contact with genitalia, the anus or both, is being developed by ISO PC 325.
This new standard will address risk management, design requirements such as mechanical, electrical and vibration, materials, general safety and user information.
The standard is aimed at manufacturers of sex toys however distributors of such products may also be interested in the development of this new standard.
There is currently a working draft available for review with a meeting of ISO PC 325 scheduled for March 25-26 to progress the work.
