The submission deadline is fast approaching to put your name forward for the call for experts for developing the 2nd generation of Eurocodes. This is your chance to influence the development of specific Eurocode parts as well as a chance to work with and network with other engineers with similar expertise.

Instructions of how to apply and the contract terms and conditions are also available in Volumes 1 and 2 also available from the same webpage. The deadline for submission is May 25, 2015.
Example of tasks which project teams will undertake include:
- Climatic changes - Developing a technical report analysing and providing guidance for potential amendments for Eurocodes with regard to structural design addressing relevant impacts of future climate change (general and material specific).
- Early age thermomechanichal design - Early cracking due to thermal stresses from the heath of hydration and restrained contraction is a problem in massive structures provisions for the design to avoid such problems are intended covered in a new Annex. The fundamental work on this subtask will be undertaken by others. The Project Team will need to review and incorporate this material into their deliverables, adapting it when necessary to ensure that it is consistent with the rest of the work under this task.
- Fire safety of joints - Harmonization of rules on the fire safety of joints and connections with EN 1993-1-2 in liaison with the HG Fire. It is not demanded to develop rules for fire design of joints, but this belongs to SC3.TC6, subtask 5. However possible clarification and requirements demanded by WG2 or Project Team responsible for EN 1993-1-2 should be considered for harmonisation and integration where possible. The fundamental work on this subtask will be undertaken by others. The Project Team will need to review and incorporate this material into their deliverables, adapting it when necessary to ensure that it is consistent with the rest of the work under this task.
