S.R. 21:2014 is the National Guidance document on the use of I.S. EN 13242:2002+A1:2004 – Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering work and road construction.

The Amendment to S.R. 21:2014 has been prepared by the NSAI Roads Standards Committee (RSC) Aggregates Panel in conjunction with members of the Steering Group on Radon Preventative Measures in new buildings, set up under the Governments National Radon Control Strategy (NRCS).

  • Amendment to SR 21:2014

This Amendment revises the definition of mudrock and Professional Geologist and also  makes relevant revisions to Annex E to include a suitably graded unbound granular fill (hardcore) material to facilitate the free movement of gas within the hardcore layer.

  • The Amendment is out for a period of Public Enquiry from 22nd May 2015 – 3rd July 2015.
