NSAI seeks comments on new European Standard on Care for the Elderly
The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) is calling for comments from the public on a new draft European standard for Care of the Elderly.
EN 17500 – Quality of care and support for older persons is an EU standard being developed by European stakeholders interested in improving standards in this area. The work is being managed by CEN Technical Committee or TC 449 – Quality of care for older people.
The standard addresses services for health and social care of older persons. It specifies requirements and recommendations for services provided to the older person at home and in care homes based on the older persons individual needs.
This draft standard is currently available on the NSAI Draft standard Portal – Your Standard Your Say. http://www.nsainep.ie/Home/Details/17626 Comments on the draft can also be submitted on this platform.
All comments will be considered by NSAI and provided as input to CEN in the development of the final draft. The deadline for submitting comments through this platform is July 7th, 2020.
