Standards Officers Barry Cox and Noleen Campbell will be speaking later this month at a conference on ‘Unlocking the Value of Knowledge Transfer Conference’, jointly hosted by the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment (DETE) and Knowledge Transfer Ireland (KTI). This is part of the event series that the European Commission’s Directorate General for Research and Innovation are conducting across Europe.
The conference, held on April 23rd, forms part of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Innovation’s awareness raising campaign on knowledge valorisation, designed to disseminate the latest policy developments on knowledge valorisation and to demonstrate how research and innovation results can be better transformed into societal and economic benefits.
This event is part of the Tours des Capitals programme that will see national events hosted across the European Union Member States designed to address the specific priorities of the Research and Innovation community in each Member State respectively.
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness on the guiding principles and the codes of practice and how they facilitate knowledge valorisation in practice by addressing a wide variety of stakeholders in Research & Innovation.
NSAI representatives will be sharing their expertise in relation to ‘How Knowledge Valorisation can facilitate better engagement between Irish SMEs and RPOs’ and Standards Focusing on Research and Development. Professor Dave Lewis will be continuing on the key theme of standards in the afternoon by addressing the conference on ‘Real-world Perspectives on the Interplay Between Standards and Research’.
The conference will also cover key areas within this space including real-world perspectives on the interplay between standards and research, how to embed citizen engagement in the research agenda, and capturing the value of innovation and the IP challenges for SMEs.
Speakers at the conference will draw on a variety of expertise from across the fields of private industry, academia, business support agencies, and the public sector at both national and European level.
