The National Eurocodes Advisory Committee (NEAC) has been advising NSAI on Eurocodes work since the 1990's. For structural and administrative reasons, the NSAI Board recently approved the disbandment of the NEAC and the establishment of a new consultative committee, the Eurocodes Consultative Committee (ECC).
As Europe enters the next phase of Eurocode development, the committee is designed to facilitate broad membership, increased participation and improved dissemination of information, amongst relevant stakeholders, including consulting engineers, academics, other participants in the building industry and students alike. The role of Liaison Engineer will be taken over by working groups, mirroring the subcommittee structure of CEN TC 250.
Members of NEAC have been offered the opportunity to continue participation in Eurocode work and the new committee. A review of membership will then be carried out and gaps identified and addressed as appropriate.
If you require further information about the committee or its work, please contact Yvonne.Wylde@NSAI.ie
Finally, we wish the committee well and say 'go raibh míle maith agaibh arís', to the NEAC and all its members.
