SFA National Small Business Awards 2020 |

NSAI is proud to sponsor the manufacturing category at the 2020 SFA National Small Business Awards. This competition aims to celebrate the achievements of small business in Ireland and to recognise their vital contribution to the Irish economy.
The Awards are free to enter and the prize package for all finalists is valued at €50,000. It includes a strategic management masterclass weekend, participation in the SFA Business Connect event, a feature in a special awards supplement inserted in the Irish Independent, as well as broad-ranging national and local media coverage. Small firms (employing less than 50 people) have until the 18th of October 2019 to enter.

We saw increased demand for our services in 2018. There were significant developments particularly in the certification and metrology areas, with the launch of ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety, changes to the national taxi fare, the SI redefinition and the MDSAP status for our medical devices division. |

In August, our Brexit team published factsheets to provide concise and clear information about the potential impacts of Brexit on a number of business sectors. These factsheets are dynamic documents and will be updated as events unfold and cover areas such as green procurement, construction, agri-food and medical devices.

Two Young Professionals Chosen to Represent Ireland |

NSAI is sending two young professionals to represent Ireland at the International Electrotechnical Commission’s Young Professionals Workshop in Shanghai, China.
It follows an application process which began in April and saw dozens of entries to the NSAI sponsored competition.

Launch of ISO 56002 Innovation Management System Guidance Standard |
On the 16th of October, a unique dual launch of an ISO standard for innovation management and an Innovation Excellence Programme is taking place at Ibec. Organisations will learn how to implement and manage innovation successfully through the realisation of customer value. |
