BIM - Building Information Modelling
BIM or Building Information Modelling is a process for creating and managing information on a construction project across the lifecycle of the project.
One of the key outputs of this process is the Building Information Model, the digital description of every aspect of the built asset. This model draws on information assembled collaboratively and updated at key stages of a project.
Creating a digital Building Information Model enables those who interact with the building to optimize their actions, resulting in a greater whole life value for the asset.
Part 1 and Part 2 of International Standard ISO 19650 have been published:

The Irish Government has stated it will require BIM Level 2 (ISO 19650-2:2018) on complex projects from 2019, with medium and simple projects being phased in over the coming years.
BIM Level 2 maturity means that all suppliers (designers, contractors, specialists, product manufacturers, etc.) who produce information, need to do that in BIM.

Organisations seeking certification are requested, as a first step, to complete and return the request for quotation form (MD-00-02), this will allow NSAI offer a company specific quotation. Acceptance of this quotation then generates a formal application - A copy of the request for quotation form can be found on NSAI.ie or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
On application clients will be forwarded, and requested to complete, a self-assessment questionnaire/checklist (CL-88-01) prior to audit taking place.
In addition to ISO 19650 requirements the questionnaire also covers how an organisation both controls information data, and records and drives continual improvement. This may be integrated within the organisations existing ISO 9001:2015 documented system or addressed separately if not ISO 9001 certified.
