Assured Confidence

Services

Since 2000 the traditional reliance on manufacturing led export trade in Ireland has been replaced by a services led pattern. In 2008, over 80% of Ireland’s service exports industry was made up of computer services, business services, insurance and financial services. Service Exports have almost tripled in size from 2000 to 2008. The continued success of the services industry in Ireland is extremely important to the Irish economy.

Services standards can be used to promote best practice within a sector and can help improve competitiveness and increase efficiency by creating benchmarks against which businesses can measure the quality and performance of their own services or the services they are purchasing.
