New Fields of Standardization

New Areas of STANDARDISATION work activity at CEN and ISO

Introduction

Whether you are new to standardization or have been involved in established technical committees the following new areas of activity internationally may be of interest to you. Getting involved in the standardization process at the outset provides an opportunity to influence the content of standards so that it reflects the business needs. It is also a chance for your company or organisation to receive information on the issue from your peers and to establish contacts with interested parties in a unique forum where you can network with your customers, the business community, consumers, users, government and regulators.

Standards enable companies to improve their efficiency and competitiveness, minimise waste and reduce costs. They ensure the quality and safety of products and services, and make it easier to sell them throughout Europe and around the world. They help to create a level playing field, allowing access to more markets and attract new customers.

Participating in standardization means gaining detailed advance knowledge of standards and so anticipate requirements and trends. You will get recognition for leading in your field and use your status as a marketing tool.

Listed below are recently established Committees to address standardisation needs in these particular areas.
