ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems

NSAI provides a registration scheme for food operations wishing to have their food safety management systems independently verified. The voluntary scheme assesses the applicant's system against ISO 22000 Food Safety Management incorporating HACCP.

ISO 22000 defines a documented food safety management system which incorporates the principles of HACCP and the supportive hygiene and infrastructural requirements essential for the production of 'safe' food. The standard is the recognised specification for food safety management systems and is applicable to all sectors of the food industry, from local food retailers and caterers to multinational processors.
